  • RailChain (publicly funded): investigates distributed ledger technologies for the railway sector

    • we focus on timing predictability (real-time properties); resource constraints (embedded devices); integration and interoperability assessments; hybrid testbeds
  • Digitales Andreaskreuz (publicly funded): digitalization of railway crossings for increased safety and comfort for road traffic

    • we focus on bridging the gap between V2X (ITS-G5) and C-V2X (Internet communication over cellular networks, e.g., 5G): dependable single-host deployments, middleware architectures, protocol translation
    • part of the National Platform Future of Mobility (NPM)
  • Distributed Systems Engineering Lab: currently focuses on assessments of distributed systems using hybrid testbeds and co-simulation

  • Rail2X (publicly funded): investigated vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies for the railway sector

    • we focused on experimental dependability assessments of the underlying wireless technology (IEEE 802.11p), GeoNetworking for Linux, simulation of nation-scale use cases, and IT security considerations
